Disaster Safety Research Center

A nationally designated disaster safety specialized education institution representing the region
The cradle of advanced technology development in disaster safety

Kyungwoon University established the Department of Safety and Disaster Prevention Engineering in 2017 through the Ministry of Education's Prime project, which has laid the foundation for professional talent cultivation by operating an undergraduate educational program centered on producing Emergency Managers for the first time in Korea.

Since 2018, the Disaster Safety Research Center was established centered around professors of the Department of Safety and Disaster Prevention Engineering, not only expanding the scope of education and training to include public servants and private and public enterprise employees in charge of disaster safety tasks but also developing advanced technologies that can contribute to national and regional safety by carrying out numerous research and development projects in the field of disaster safety.

As reflected in our past endeavors, the Disaster Safety Research Center at Kyungwoon University will continue to work tirelessly, challenge, and advance in its quest to protect citizens' lives and properties by fostering disaster safety professionals and developing state-of-the-art technologies.
