Leading 21st-century new industry-academic collaboration, Kyungwoon University's Research and Business Development Foundation.
The Foundation aims to solve technical challenges SMEs face with weaker technological foundations by utilizing the university's outstanding human resources, research and development equipment, and facilities through collaborative industry-academic projects with companies, research institutes, and universities. It also provides multifaceted support in the form of technical personnel training and technology information to strengthen the technological competitiveness of companies and invigorate the local economy.

Main Tasks

    • 1. Contracting and executing academic-industrial collaborations
    • 2. Managing accounting related to academic-industrial projects
    • 3. Acquisition and management of intellectual property rights
    • 4. Support regarding university facilities and operations
    • 5. Tasks related to technology transfer and business promotion
    • 6. Collection/dissemination of information and promotion of academic-industrial collaboration needs and activities
    • 7. Education/training for personnel handling related academic-industrial collaboration tasks
    • 8. Trust management of intellectual property rights owned solely or partly by university faculty and staff
    • 9. Support for mutual collaboration activities between affiliated laboratories and joint use of facilities/equipment/human resources with the university
    • 10. Support for businesses located in the university-run Startup Incubation center under the Small and Medium Business Start-up Support Act
    • 11. Support for other businesses and laboratories operating on the university premises
    • 12. Other projects necessary to achieve the objectives of the Research and Business Development Foundation
