  • 1Professors from sister universities must confirm the number of students with the University in advance and discuss with the University if necessary.
  • 2Once the number of students is confirmed, all admission documents for selected students should be scanned and sent to the University via email by the application deadline.

Exchange Student Admission

Students Without Language Proficiency Score

  • Students who do not have a language proficiency score must take Korean language classes offered by the Korean Language Education Center and 1-2 specified regular general education courses related to Korean language/culture at the University.1)Upon arrival at the University, students must take a Korean language test.
  • Based on the test results, students will be assigned to a Korean language class.
  • In addition to the Korean language classes, students must take 1-2 specified regular general education courses related to Korean language/culture at the University.

Students With Language Proficiency Score

  • Students should have a TOPIK level of 3 or higher.
  • Students can enroll in regular major courses at the University, excluding medical-related subjects like medicine, nursing, and pharmacy located at the Medical Campus (Incheon).
  • Students can choose from a limited list of general education courses available for them at the University.
    A list of available general education courses will be provided during the exchange student orientation.

Students With English Proficiency Score

  • Students should have a TOEFL IBT score of 70 or IELTS score of 5.5 or TOEIC score of 600 or higher.
  • Students can enroll in regular English-taught major courses at the University, excluding medical-related subjects like medicine, nursing, and pharmacy located at the Medical Campus. * However, only the Business Department and Computer Science offer classes in English (all other majors are taught in Korean).
  • Students can choose from a limited list of general education courses available for them at the University.
    A list of available general education courses will be provided during the exchange student orientation.

Course Information

Minimum/Maximum Course Credits(Per Semester) Exchange students are required to enroll in at least one regular course at the university during the semester. They can take up to a maximum of 18 credits.
Course Duration 3 credit course = 3 hours of class per week on average
Assessment Methods Attendance, Examinations, Reports, Homework, and Team Assignments, etc.

A+ 4.5 95~100
A 4.0 90~94
B+ 3.5 85~89
B 3.0 80~84
C+ 2.5 75~79

Korean Language Course
  • Exchange students are entitled to one free Korean language course per semester.
  • The Korean language course runs daily (from Monday to Friday) for 4 hours over ten weeks. After completing the Korean course, a separate transcript indicating 12 credits and grades will be provided.

Airport Pick-up Service
  • Kyungwoon University offers a complimentary airport pick-up service for exchange students.
  • The date/time of the airport pick-up and the application form for the service will be sent to the designated teacher of the sister university.
Mentoring Program
  • All exchange students are paired with a Kyungwoon University student mentor.
  • Each Kyungwoon University mentor is matched with 2-3 exchange students to assist and support them in academic and daily life.
Visa Application
  • All exchange students must enter Korea with a D-2 exchange student visa obtained from an embassy or consulate in their home country, using the admission permit and invitation letter from Kyungwoon University.
  • For specific visa-related inquiries, please contact your country's embassy or consulate.
Foreigner Registration Group Submission
  • All exchange students must apply for an Alien Registration Card within 90 days of arriving in Korea.
  • You will receive the card 3-4 weeks after the application.
Insurance
  • All exchange students must get traveler's insurance in their home country.
  • A copy of the insurance certificate in English should be submitted to Kyungwoon University.
Kyungwoon University Dormitory
  • Kyungwoon University provides dormitory accommodations for all exchange students.
  • Exchange students must submit the dormitory application form.
  • Kyungwoon University does not offer off-campus dormitory options.

Tuberculosis (TB) Test
  • All exchange students residing in Kyungwoon University's dormitory must undergo a TB test at a hospital/health center in Korea.
  • The TB test result must be submitted to the dormitory.
Part-time Job
  • All exchange students are not allowed to work part-time.
